Αρχαίε, στείλε του τον Μέργο να του δώσει συμβουλές για το ρεύμα από την Σαχάρα...http://www.dii-eumena.com/fileadmin/Daten/Newsletter/Newsletter_February_2012.pdf8. Inside Dii’s network: Talking to TERNA ENERGY SA from GreeceProf. George Mergos, Senior Advisor,TERNA ENERGY SA, GreeceWhat is your view of the Desertec vision?Renewable energy is the only sustainable strategy towards a low-carbon world. It can play a fundamental role in managing the challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, and energy security. As these issues become more and more pressing in our society, governments and markets are seeking innovative solutions. The Desertec vision of generating renewable energy in the desserts is not a utopia. Given the magnitude of the energy and climate change challenges that our society faces globally, the Desertec vision will help us concentrate our efforts in finding new ways of addressing these challenges. Many claim that an energy strategy based on renewables is costly. They underestimate the rising and uncertain oil and gas prices and ignore recent findings on the huge benefits of a fast penetration of renewables. Furthermore they underestimate the huge cost reduction potential of renewable energy technologies. To what extent can your company contribute to Dii´s work?Terna Energy (TE) is part of the GEK TERNA GROUP, one of the largest and strongest companies in the country and very active in the MENA region. TE is a vertically organized RES IPP (Renewable Energy Sources Independent Power Producer) and developer, present in South Eastern & Central Europe, as well as in the USA,with an emphasis on wind, but expanding in the solar area. TE has a mixed portfolio of technologies that can be put to Dii´s disposal, has good MENA knowledge and connections, mainly through the GEK TERNA GROUP, cultural knowledge and understanding of the region, and has an integrated RES and thermal energy development, EPC and financing experience.
